Senior Hardware Design Engineer (Power Electronics)

What you will do

• Design dynamic operating life test circuits and switching power supply platforms for accelerated reliability testing of power conversion ICs.
• Develop modular test systems for environmental chambers up to 95°C and device-under-test temperatures up to 125°C.
• Translate Objective Technical Specifications into functional evaluation and reliability test circuits.
• Collaborate with IC design, product development, reliability engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
• Design magnetic components such as inductors and transformers for stress-test platforms.
• Evaluate, troubleshoot, optimize, and document reliability test hardware, procedures, and operational specifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in power electronics and hardware design.
• Experience designing power converters, inverters, power supplies, analog and digital circuits, and switched-mode power supplies.
• Knowledge of high-temperature accelerated life testing, reliability evaluation, and debugging of reliability test systems.
• Proficiency with electronic design, PCB layout, circuit simulation tools such as Simetrix and SIMPLIS, Verilog, and FPGA development.
• Strong PCB design knowledge for high-voltage and high-current applications, plus technical writing skills.

Nice to have

• Experience designing custom magnetic components for power conversion applications.
• Familiarity with semiconductor power device reliability testing methodologies and qualification standards.
• Experience in an R&D or new product development environment.
