Senior Software Engineer, Frontend (Marketing and Privacy)

Location: Remote within Canada, limited to candidates residing in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan.

Base pay: CAD 153,000–213,000 per year.

What you will do

• Own quarterly goals and lead engineers through ambiguous, open-ended technical problems.
• Design and evolve high-traffic consumer web experiences, experimentation systems, and measurement platforms.
• Build and maintain web instrumentation, Google Tag Manager and server-side GTM integrations, conversion tracking, and marketing API integrations.
• Partner with Product, Marketing, Analytics, Data Engineering, Design, and platform teams on technical decisions, risks, and trade-offs.
• Improve system availability and observability through metrics, monitoring, on-call support, code reviews, and design standards.
• Develop engineering talent through feedback, guidance, writing, and technical presentations.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience developing and architecting web applications with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with web instrumentation, analytics and experimentation platforms, conversion tracking, advertising or marketing APIs, and third-party web integrations.
• Experience designing reliable, performant consumer web systems and understanding the impact of consent, cookies, tagging, observability, and data collection.
• Ability to define technical plans, design extensible system components, and make significant changes safely in large codebases.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
