Inventory Manager (AI)

Location: Leiden, Netherlands; based at one of the European Health & Biosciences plant locations.

What you will do

• Own and execute the inventory optimization roadmap across business units, regions, sites, product families, and inventory categories.
• Translate working-capital and inventory objectives into prioritized actions with owners, deadlines, expected benefits, risks, and escalation paths.
• Lead governance for slow-moving, obsolete, and excess inventory, including root-cause analysis, prevention, disposition, value recovery, and sustained improvement.
• Improve inventory segmentation, safety stocks, stocking strategies, planning parameters, deployment, and inventory balance across plants and distribution centers.
• Act as the business owner for AI, analytics, and automation initiatives, translating model outputs into practical inventory actions.
• Integrate inventory priorities into weekly S&OE, monthly SIOP, and the broader Health & Biosciences operating system while validating financial outcomes with Finance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Substantial experience in inventory management, inventory optimization, supply or materials planning, production planning, IBP, S&OP, or supply-chain analytics in a complex manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated results in improving working capital, inventory, SLOB, scrap, or inventory-tail performance.
• Deep knowledge of inventory strategy, segmentation, safety-stock optimization, stocking policies, planning parameters, and service-level trade-offs.
• Experience influencing cross-functional teams in a global matrix environment and partnering with technical teams on AI, advanced analytics, automation, or digital supply-chain solutions.
• Professional proficiency in English and availability to work at the Leiden, Netherlands location.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing AI-enabled inventory optimization, control-tower, forecasting, exception-management, SLOB-reduction, or working-capital solutions.
• Experience with SAP, SAP IBP, Power BI, data visualization, or workflow automation.
• APICS CPIM, CSCP, or a comparable certification.
• Experience facilitating S&OE, SIOP, or IBP operating rhythms in process industries, life sciences, food ingredients, biotechnology, or complex global manufacturing.
