Director Strategic Insights (Data Analytics)

Location: Richmond, Virginia; in-office applicants must be Virginia residents

Salary: $134,600–$209,000 annually, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Lead the Strategic Insights function and provide analytical subject matter expertise across hirify.global businesses.
• Develop data and business intelligence strategies that support organizational planning, decision-making, customer experience, and future profitability.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business goals, gather requirements, and deliver insights, reports, metrics, datasets, and analytical solutions.
• Build, lead, recruit, and mentor a high-performing team covering data engineering, data analysis, and data science capabilities.
• Communicate project results and data stories to leadership while influencing decisions and building consensus.
• Establish policies, standards, best practices, and repeatable reporting solutions that improve processes and enable technology.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an analytical or technical discipline.
• At least 10 years of analytics or data experience in a dynamic environment.
• At least 5 years of direct leadership experience, including team development and strategy execution.
• Advanced analytical, presentation, written communication, influencing, mentoring, and collaboration skills.
• Expertise in Excel and intermediate-to-advanced SQL, SAS, or another programming language.
• Experience with relational database management systems such as SQL Server, Greenplum, or Oracle.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in analytics or data science.
• Life or long-term care insurance product and claims process knowledge.
• Advanced analytical and modeling experience with Python or R.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Databricks, AWS, or Azure.
• Data visualization expertise.
