Data Analyst - Business Intelligence (Financial Data)

Location: Chicago, United States

Annual base salary: $100,000–$130,000, plus an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Build and run data extracts for front-office teams and business units including Tax and Legal.
• Improve market share reporting and analytics.
• Support quarterly and annual tax and regulatory inquiries across multiple jurisdictions.
• Respond to audit, litigation, and class-action data requests under tight deadlines.
• Validate extracts by reconciling details, aggregates, and source systems, and document reporting business rules.
• Partner with engineering teams to create dashboards, self-service views, scheduled reports, and other durable BI solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, financial reporting, or analytics engineering.
• Advanced SQL, including complex joins, aggregation across different grains, CTEs, and query-performance analysis.
• Python for data work, including pandas, database connectivity, and repeatable scripts.
• Experience with financial data such as trades, positions, pricing, or reference data.
• Strong accuracy, written communication, and ability to explain methodology to accountants, lawyers, and auditors.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field, plus experience with BI tooling or engineering requirements and exposure to tax, VAT/GST, or regulatory reporting.
