Co-Op System Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Onsite at a customer location in Melrose Park, Illinois, USA. The role requires regular work in an active warehouse environment, travel to client locations and company headquarters, and compliance with physical workplace requirements.

Salary: $25.00–$32.45 per hour, plus medical, dental, vision, disability, 401(k), PTO, and other benefits.

What you will do

• Monitor system health and troubleshoot operational, mechanical, electrical, robotics, and software issues.
• Shadow experienced System Engineers and progressively support system tickets, material-flow analysis, and site activities.
• Analyze alarms, performance metrics, and operational data to identify trends, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities.
• Document issues, explain technical information to site teams and customers, and coordinate solutions with engineering and support teams.
• Assist with escalations for production-impacting problems and coordinate follow-up actions through resolution.
• Own a scoped continuous improvement project using site data to address a recurring operational need and measure results.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Foundational knowledge of robotics, automation, electromechanical systems, controls, or industrial operations.
• Familiarity with one or more of PLCs, SQL, Linux, Python, Power BI, Excel, data visualization, or continuous improvement practices.
• Hands-on experience or interest in assembling, operating, testing, or troubleshooting robotics and electromechanical equipment.
• Strong data analysis, organization, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client locations and company headquarters are required.
