Cleaning, Contamination Control & Validation Engineer E4 (Semiconductor)

Location: Santa Clara, CA, United States; travel up to 25% domestically and internationally. Relocation is not eligible.

Salary: $133,500–$183,500 per year

What you will do

• Develop cleaning methods and contamination control solutions for current and advanced node semiconductor equipment.
• Map contamination introduction points across suppliers, manufacturing, packaging, shipment, and customer operations.
• Develop and qualify contamination detection, measurement, inspection, and monitoring methods.
• Lead customer escalation support, root cause analysis, containment, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Design and perform failure analysis and DOE investigations for wafer defects, components, and customer issues.
• Author contamination control plans, validation master plans, protocols, supplier specifications, and control requirement documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related technical field.
• 7–10 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, preferably in semiconductor fabrication.
• Experience with semiconductor fabrication environmental, health monitoring, and testing methodologies.
• Experience authoring validation protocols and contamination control documentation.
• Working knowledge of FMEA, risk management, control plans, cleanroom protocols, SEMI standards, ISO, and quality management systems.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate technical requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree such as an M.S. or MBA in a relevant field.
• Certification in Quality Engineering, Quality Management, or an equivalent discipline.
• Six Sigma certification.
