Research Associate (Gene Therapy)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; full-time, in-person presence required

Salary: $80,000–$102,000 annual

What you will do

• Support gene therapy development within the Research and Development team.
• Expand molecular and product-specific assay development.
• Perform molecular biology techniques, including cloning and restriction digests, under senior scientist supervision.
• Conduct protein science work, including Western blot analysis.
• Perform cell culture, sterile technique, and transfection procedures.
• Present research results through written reports and team presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field.
• Proficiency in cellular and molecular biology, including PCR and Western blot.
• Ability to communicate professionally with colleagues and present research results.
• Willingness to learn new techniques and train laboratory staff in technical matters.
• Strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety guidelines.
• Ability to work full-time in person in San Diego, California.

Nice to have

• Experience with histology, cloning, mammalian cell culture, or transfection.
• Familiarity with in vivo rodent models.
