Technical Development Scientist 1 (Cell Therapy)

Location: South San Francisco or Oceanside, California, United States; onsite role. Relocation benefits are not available.

Salary: $92,600–$172,000 per year, with a discretionary annual bonus potentially available.

What you will do

• Execute and support cell culture experiments focused on cell biology, process consistency, and raw material impacts.
• Apply and evaluate advanced technologies to improve cell culture performance and establish next-generation platform processes.
• Support technology transfer initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams developing cell-based therapies.
• Provide technical support for project teams, media preparation, raw material assessments, and supply chain partners.
• Identify and resolve complex technical issues while contributing to continuous improvement and a lean operating mindset.
• Prepare technical documentation, peer-reviewed publications, and conference presentations.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in biological sciences, chemical engineering, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in process development and cell culture techniques.
• Ability to execute technical projects with scientific rigor, strong organization, and practical problem-solving.
• Strong collaboration skills and an inclusive approach to working with diverse perspectives.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated through scientific presentations, publications, or clear communication of technical concepts.
