Senior Java Developer (AI)

What you will do

• Develop, analyze, reverse-engineer, refactor, and modernize complex enterprise Java applications.
• Use AI-assisted development tools for code generation, analysis, refactoring, testing, and documentation.
• Apply reverse engineering, Spec-Driven Development, and automated test generation workflows.
• Remove or replace legacy dependencies and improve automated test coverage.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to translate requirements and existing system behavior into maintainable solutions.
• Help establish repeatable AI-assisted development practices while maintaining code quality and software engineering standards.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience developing, maintaining, refactoring, and modernizing Java applications in enterprise environments.
• At least 3 months of team-project experience using Copilot as the primary AI code-generation tool, or at least 6 months using comparable AI coding tools.
• Practical experience with structured AI development workflows, reverse engineering, and/or Spec-Driven Development.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted workflows for test generation and replacing legacy dependencies.
• Strong ability to understand complex unfamiliar codebases and solid fundamentals in clean code, automated testing, version control, and collaborative development.
• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java 17 and Java 21.
• Experience with SQL relational databases.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases.
