What you will do
- Build and enhance translation services and backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Integrate LLM, AI, and machine translation provider APIs into an enterprise content-processing platform.
- Design highly available REST APIs, Kafka-driven asynchronous pipelines, and microservices for high-volume translation workflows.
- Evaluate and improve translation quality, scalability, cost efficiency, latency, and system performance.
- Implement monitoring, logging, error handling, retries, automated testing, and validation for production workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, product managers, and stakeholders on architecture, technical design, code reviews, documentation, deployments, and troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Senior-level software engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience building scalable RESTful APIs and enterprise microservices.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform or another major public cloud.
- Experience with Apache Kafka or similar messaging systems and event-driven architectures.
- Experience integrating LLMs, AI APIs, or machine translation technologies into multilingual content workflows.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and the ability to work in a hybrid Barcelona setup.
Nice to have
- Experience with content management platforms, digital publishing systems, or media workflows.
- Experience with prompt engineering, LLM fine-tuning, or machine translation quality metrics such as BLEU and COMET.
