Senior Data Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Full-time onsite at the NYC office in New York, United States

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 USD base salary annually, plus equity, annual performance bonus, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for collecting, transforming, and curating internal data.
• Integrate external data sources and develop applications for customer-facing products and internal systems.
• Expand blockchain reporting infrastructure and automated reconciliation systems.
• Improve data quality, auditability, and near real-time processing across the platform.
• Develop self-service tools that help data consumers extract and analyze information.
• Research and prototype technologies to improve data engineering capabilities.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent engineering background.
• 6+ years of combined Software Engineering and Data Engineering experience.
• Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, or Python; SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL; and RESTful API design.
• Experience with data pipelines, ETL, data warehouses, data modeling, event-driven systems, Kafka, microservices, testing, and debugging.
• Experience with Git/GitHub, code review, CI tools, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and participate in on-call rotations.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or financial technology.
• Understanding of and strong interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain.
• Experience with large-scale, real-time, distributed applications.
• Experience with data governance, PII handling, and data masking.
