Staff Engineer, Data Infrastructure Services

Location: Sunnyvale, California or Bellevue, Washington, United States. The position requires access to export-controlled information and eligibility under U.S. export regulations.

Base salary: $207,000–$275,000 per year, plus potential bonus, equity awards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Drive technical decisions, mentor engineers, and improve team capabilities.
• Champion event-driven architecture and build organizational consensus.
• Design and implement managed data platforms and data delivery services.
• Develop stream-processing architecture with a focus on scalability and reliability.
• Improve the performance, security, reliability, and scalability of data platforms and related services.
• Establish data access, storage, and data-protection guidelines for stakeholder teams.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in software or infrastructure engineering.
• Understanding of data consistency, concurrency models, data modeling, and data management.
• Experience with distributed NewSQL databases such as CockroachDB, TiDB, YDB, or Yugabyte, and stream-processing tools such as NATS or Kafka.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale, with familiarity with Kubernetes, Linux, shell scripting, storage, and networking.
• Production-level proficiency in Go or Python and interest in open-source contribution.
• Must be eligible to access U.S. export-controlled information as a U.S. person, through an applicable authorization exemption, or through reasonably obtainable export authorization.
