Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Direct Testing

What you will do

• Determine specimen acceptability according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical laboratory procedures following departmental standard operating procedures.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents and controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results and assist with specimen processing.
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures, replenish supplies, and maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Computer proficiency and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position and pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice to have

• At least three months of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• ASCP or AMT certification.
• Non-traditional degree with applicable science credits meeting CLIA education standards may substitute for the stated education requirement.
