Medical Laboratory Scientist (Inpatient Lab)

Location: 4201 Medical Center Dr., McHenry, Illinois, United States. Full-time evening shift.

Salary: $34.00–$52.70 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical laboratory workflows for inpatient testing.
• Receive, label, process, prepare, store, and transfer clinical specimens according to protocols.
• Perform laboratory tests, review and interpret results, complete reflex testing, and report critical values.
• Maintain instruments, reagents, supplies, quality control records, and test-system integrity.
• Troubleshoot workflow and test-system problems, escalate unresolved issues, and meet turnaround-time requirements.
• Support SOP reviews, test validation and implementation, training of new employees and students, billing activities, safety, and patient confidentiality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a qualifying Allied Health field.
• General MLS or MT ASCP certification, or categorical BB, C, H, or M ASCP certification, or eligibility for certification.
• Candidates hired after January 19, 2025 must obtain ASCP or equivalent certification within one year of employment.
• Ability to follow laboratory SOPs, safety procedures, quality standards, and confidentiality requirements.
• On-site work in McHenry, Illinois, on the evening shift is required.
