Lab Technical Coordinator (Microbiology and Send Outs)

Location: Delnor Hospital, Geneva, Illinois, United States; onsite, full-time day shift

Salary: USD 38.72–56.14 per hour

What you will do

• Coordinate daily operations for the microbiology and send-out laboratory section.
• Review laboratory results, quality control records, and quality assurance parameters while coordinating corrective actions.
• Develop SOPs, maintain document control, and support compliance with CAP, AABB, TJC, and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate laboratory information system planning, system changes, interfaces, equipment maintenance, supplies, and facility activities.
• Coordinate staffing, assignments, orientation, training, competency assessment, and performance evaluation support.
• Perform complex laboratory testing and bench work, investigate technical issues, and support medical staff and departmental problem-solving.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• At least two years of clinical laboratory experience, including experience in a technical specialty relevant to the role.
• MLS/BB/C/CG/CT/H/HT/HTL/I/M/MB ASCP Board of Registry certification within one year of hire.
• Ability to perform complex testing, quality control, quality assurance, staff training, and regulatory documentation.
• Ability to work onsite in Geneva, Illinois, on a full-time day schedule, with possible rotating weekends and holidays.

Nice to have

• At least five years of clinical laboratory experience in a relevant technical specialty.
