TL;DR
Lab Technical Coordinator Point of Care-Full-time Days (Medical Laboratory): Coordinating point-of-care laboratory operations, quality systems, staffing, testing, supplies, equipment, and laboratory information system changes with an accent on regulatory compliance, technical oversight, and clinical service quality. Focus on developing SOPs, resolving workflow and technical problems, maintaining staff competency, and performing complex bench testing in a hospital laboratory.

Location: Delnor Hospital, 300 Randall Rd., Geneva, Illinois, United States. Full-time, 40 hours per week, day shift; rotating weekends and holidays may be required.

Salary: USD 38.72–56.14 per hour.

What you will do

  • Coordinate daily operations for a designated point-of-care laboratory section and collaborate with pathologists, physician-specialists, nursing units, and clinical departments.
  • Review test results, quality control records, and quality assurance parameters; coordinate corrective actions and proficiency testing.
  • Develop SOPs, maintain document control, and support regulatory compliance with CAP, AABB, TJC, and federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, training, competency assessment, performance evaluation support, inventory, supplies, equipment maintenance, and facility needs.
  • Participate in LIS planning and the controlled implementation of laboratory system builds, interfaces, and other technology changes.
  • Perform complex laboratory testing and bench work, report results accurately, resolve technical and workflow issues, and support budgeting, billing, purchasing, and equipment proposals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
  • At least two years of clinical laboratory experience, including professional experience in a technical specialty relevant to the role.
  • MLS/BB/C/CG/CT/H/HTL/I/M/MB ASCP Board of Registry certification within one year of hire.
  • Documented training and competency to perform complex laboratory testing and bench work.
  • Ability to support laboratory regulations, quality systems, staffing coordination, technical documentation, and multidisciplinary problem solving.
  • Ability to work onsite in Geneva, Illinois, on a full-time day schedule; rotating weekends and holidays may be required.

Nice to have

  • Five or more years of clinical laboratory experience, including experience in a relevant technical specialty.
  • Experience with laboratory information systems, technology implementation, vendor coordination, budgeting, and equipment acquisition.
