Associate Senior Counsel - Employment Law

Location: St. Louis, Missouri, United States; hybrid work with three days in the office each week

Salary: USD 157,100–261,800 annually, depending on experience and geographic location; eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive plans.

What you will do

• Advise Human Resources, Employee Relations, business leaders, and other stakeholders on employment law matters.
• Provide risk-based guidance on federal, state, and local employment laws, including the ADA, ADEA, Title VII, FMLA, FLSA, and FCRA.
• Manage investigations, accommodations, leave matters, discrimination and harassment claims, workforce reductions, terminations, and wage-and-hour issues.
• Develop legal strategy for administrative charges, demand letters, pre-litigation disputes, and employment litigation.
• Manage outside counsel and oversee responses to claims before agencies such as the EEOC and DOL.
• Draft and negotiate employment policies, legal memoranda, arbitration agreements, separation agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, retention agreements, and executive employment arrangements.

Requirements

• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and good standing are required.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school is required.
• At least 8 years of legal experience, including substantial employment law experience.
• Experience advising organizations on moderately complex to complex employment matters, administrative claims, employment litigation, and outside counsel relationships.
• Strong business judgment, analytical ability, communication skills, and capacity to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Experience in a large, complex, regulated organization or supporting national employers across multiple jurisdictions is preferred.
