Senior Counsel, Americas Employment

Location: Remote, United States

Compensation: $170,520–$436,800 USD annually, depending on U.S. geographic zone; total target compensation includes base pay and a performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Advise People & Culture and business leaders on hiring, performance management, leave, accommodations, terminations, reductions in force, and employee relations.
• Guide compliance with U.S. federal, state, and international employment laws, including wage and hour, leave, anti-discrimination, workplace safety, pay equity, and pay transparency requirements.
• Manage employment litigation, arbitrations, administrative charges, separation agreements, severance arrangements, settlements, outside counsel, and legal budgets.
• Advise on worker classification, restrictive covenants, confidentiality, employee IP assignments, and cross-border employment matters.
• Support expansion into new jurisdictions, including local employment requirements, works councils, employee representative bodies, immigration matters, and visa sponsorship.
• Provide employment law due diligence and workforce integration support for M&A transactions while translating legal developments into practical policies and readiness plans.

Requirements

• JD or equivalent and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar; U.S. work authorization is required.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in employment law counseling and litigation management, preferably in a technology or software company.
• Substantive experience with U.S. federal, multi-state, and international employment law.
• Experience managing employment litigation, arbitrations, agency charges, outside counsel relationships, and budgets.
• Experience partnering with People & Culture and business leaders in a fast-paced global environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear policy drafting and concise guidance for leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting employment law matters across multiple jurisdictions in the Americas.
• Experience with M&A employment due diligence and workforce integration.
• Experience advising on compensation, equity, benefits, pay equity, pay transparency, immigration, visa sponsorship, and cross-border employment.
• Experience partnering with Information Security, Finance, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
