Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Perdido Freestanding Emergency Dept

Location: Perdido Key, Florida, United States; onsite at Ascension Sacred Heart Freestanding Emergency Department. Casual/per diem schedule with as-needed hours and variable start and end times on the third shift.

What you will do

• Evaluate specimen acceptability and assist with specimen processing.
• Perform routine and complex technical laboratory procedures according to standard operating procedures.
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate reagents and controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Complete preventive maintenance, quality-control documentation, supply replenishment, and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical science, biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology, or an equivalent education pathway meeting CLIA standards.
• At least one year of clinical laboratory testing experience or an MLS degree.
• Florida State Technologist License required.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems and computer proficiency.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test and work overtime or other shifts when needed.

Nice to have

• ASCP or AMT certification.
