Medical Laboratory Scientist (Part-time Nights)

Location: 4201 Medical Center Dr., McHenry, Illinois, United States; part-time night shift.

Salary: $34.00–$52.70 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic clinical laboratory workflows, including order verification and specimen processing.
• Prepare, test, review, interpret, verify, and report patient specimens and results according to established procedures.
• Maintain instruments, reagents, supplies, quality control records, and test system integrity.
• Troubleshoot test system and workflow problems, complete reflex testing, and escalate unresolved issues.
• Store and retrieve specimens and records, support charge capture, and respond to information requests while maintaining confidentiality.
• Participate in SOP review, test development and validation, employee and student training, and quality and safety activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a qualifying Allied Health field.
• General MLS or MT (ASCP) certification or eligibility, or categorical BB, C, H, or M (ASCP) certification or eligibility.
• Applicants hired after January 19, 2025 must obtain ASCP or equivalent certification within one year of employment.
• Ability to follow laboratory SOPs, regulatory and accreditation standards, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
• Ability to work part-time night shifts and maintain patient confidentiality, including protected health information.
