Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer I (Cybersecurity)

Location: Washington, DC, United States. Employment eligibility verification in the United States is required.

Salary: $100,000–$125,000 per year, with possible performance-based bonuses and additional incentives.

What you will do

• Lead Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes with DHS customers and internal engineering teams to obtain and maintain system Authority to Operate (ATO).
• Perform continuous monitoring, analyze scans, logs, accounts, and vulnerability results, and prepare monthly security reports.
• Write and review RMF documentation and design and execute security testing plans.
• Evaluate system security posture across AWS, applications, APIs, databases, containers, and infrastructure using cybersecurity tools and scanners.
• Support contingency planning, incident response, disaster recovery training, and tabletop exercises.
• Gather requirements, facilitate stakeholder discussions, track corrective actions, and report project progress.

Requirements

• At least five years of IT experience as a Security Lead or Information Security Analyst.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a comparable field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 controls, RMF, API security, and the OWASP framework.
• Experience with AWS architecture, cloud technologies, microservices, containers, zero trust concepts, data streaming, or data pipelines.
• Experience with continuous monitoring, vulnerability analysis, risk assessment, security architecture, requirements analysis, and cybersecurity documentation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DHS suitability and an ISSO-relevant professional certification.
