Senior Cybersecurity Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hanscom AFB, Bedford, Massachusetts, United States; on-site support for an Air Force program.

Salary: $155,000–$165,000 per year

What you will do

• Install, configure, and maintain ACAS components, including Nessus scanners, SecurityCenter/Tenable.sc, and Nessus Network Monitor/Tenable.asm.
• Schedule and execute vulnerability scans, analyze findings, and identify vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.
• Direct DISA STIG-based hardening across multi-classification networks and support compliance assessments.
• Generate reports covering vulnerability status, compliance posture, and remediation progress.
• Collaborate with system administrators on remediation and assist with ACAS server and database administration.
• Manage cybersecurity incident reporting, perform root-cause analysis, and maintain corrective action plans and POA&Ms.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Active Secret clearance required.
• CISSP certification required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a professional engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program and 10–15 years of relevant experience, including 10 years in the Department of Defense, preferred.
• Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies, RMF implementation, system authorization and accreditation, STIG compliance, and DoD cloud infrastructure security.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical problem-solving, collaboration, and independent work skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and DevOps.
• Experience with systems analysis and eMASS.
• Knowledge of PKI management, access control, vulnerability planning, and classified material handling.
