Cybersecurity Systems Engineer

Location: Chantilly, Virginia; no remote or telework allowed

Salary: $115,575.93–$200,964.12 per year

What you will do

• Provide Information Assurance and cybersecurity systems engineering support for enterprise platforms and mission systems.
• Manage Risk Management Framework activities, ATO documentation, ServiceNow records, POA&Ms, security controls, and continuous monitoring artifacts.
• Assess system changes, interfaces, software releases, network boundaries, and architecture modifications for cybersecurity risks and authorization impacts.
• Coordinate with system owners, engineers, developers, external stakeholders, and Government cybersecurity organizations to resolve security issues.
• Support Zero Trust principles across architecture, integration, modernization, and software delivery initiatives.
• Prepare risk analyses, assessments, status updates, and recommendations based on cybersecurity policies, threats, and enterprise initiatives.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required and must be maintained.
• Bachelor’s degree with 8–10 years of relevant experience, master’s degree with 6–8 years, PhD with 3–5 years, or an equivalent combination.
• Experience with cybersecurity, Information Assurance, RMF, system authorization, security controls, continuous monitoring, POA&M management, and risk management.
• Experience developing, reviewing, and maintaining authorization documentation, security records, and cybersecurity artifacts.
• Ability to interpret cybersecurity policies and technical guidance and translate them into technical and system requirements.
• Strong analytical, documentation, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder coordination skills.

Nice to have

• Systems engineering experience in requirements, architecture, interfaces, integration, or configuration management.
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar workflow and system-of-record tools.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust, network security, identity and access management, data protection, or endpoint security.
• Experience supporting Intelligence Community or Department of Defense cybersecurity programs.
• Experience in Agile, DevSecOps, cloud, enterprise platform, or software-intensive environments, plus relevant cybersecurity certification.
