Cybersecurity Systems Engineer Navy Mission

Location: Onsite in Arlington, Virginia, with at least 5 days per week in the office

Salary: $135,000–$230,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead all six Risk Management Framework steps, from categorization and control selection through authorization and continuous monitoring.
• Develop and maintain SSPs, SARs, SAPs, POA&Ms, inventories, architecture diagrams, and monitoring documentation.
• Manage ATO, IATT, and IATO authorization packages and coordinate with Navy Authorizing Officials, SCAs, ISSMs, ISSOs, and program managers.
• Perform ACAS scans, patching, server updates, software installations, vulnerability remediation, and STIG checklist submissions.
• Maintain access-control policies, security processes, system documentation, and user permissions.
• Provision and harden physical and virtual machines, including operating system and virtual-machine golden images.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in systems administration or systems engineering, including NIST 800-53 security controls and POA&M remediation.
• Experience with VMware or similar virtualization platforms, Tenable Security Center/Nessus, endpoint security solutions, and Bash or Python scripting.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, VLANs, DHCP, routing, machine provisioning, device hardening, DISA STIGs, and vulnerability remediation in closed networks.
• Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time.

Nice to have

• Security+, CCNA, or equivalent IAT Level II certification.
• Red Hat or similar Linux experience and networking experience in tactical systems.
• Experience with the U.S. Navy RMF process, cross-domain solutions, PKI, and multiple authentication methods.
• Experience with Ansible, PowerShell, Chef, Salt, Puppet, or other configuration automation tools.
