Laboratory Supervisor - Blood Bank

Salary: $90,000–$120,000 annually

What you will do

• Supervise daily operations of the Blood Bank department and monitor laboratory workflow.
• Ensure accurate, timely testing and compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Directly supervise, train, mentor, and coach laboratory personnel.
• Coordinate staffing, assay coverage, payroll records, and personnel files.
• Investigate production errors and drive continuous process and service-level improvements.
• Maintain quality control, quality assurance documentation, equipment standards, and technical bench proficiency.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in chemical or biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology, or qualifying education meeting CLIA standards.
• At least 5 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, procedures, and high-volume laboratory environments.
• Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and relevant state regulations.
• Computer proficiency and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test and handle the physical requirements of the position.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• At least 6 months of experience supervising or leading a team.
• ASCP or AMT certification.
