Clinical Laboratory Technologist (Clinical Laboratory Science)

Location: Onsite positions in Detroit, Troy, Warren, Southfield, Rochester, and Grand Blanc, Michigan, United States. The featured role is at Henry Ford St John in Detroit, with a Monday–Friday, 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. schedule and rotating weekends.

Sign-on bonus: $2,500 for external candidates.

What you will do

• Determine specimen acceptability and assist with specimen processing.
• Perform routine and complex technical laboratory procedures according to standard operating procedures.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance, quality control, supply replenishment, and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical science, biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology, or an MLS degree.
• At least one year of clinical laboratory testing experience, unless qualifying through an MLS degree.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems and proficiency with computers.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test and work overtime or other shifts when required.

Nice to have

• ASCP or AMT certification.
• Non-traditional degree with applicable science credits meeting CLIA standards.
