Senior Sourcing Specialist (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States; willingness to travel up to 50% of the time is required.

Salary: $92,820–$125,580 per year, plus eligibility for stock options and/or long-term cash awards.

What you will do

• Own purchasing for machined components and similar commodities from quote stage through delivery.
• Issue RFQs, place purchase orders, and lead open-order review meetings with key suppliers.
• Assess supplier capacity, lead times, cost trends, and production constraints.
• Build a preferred supplier network with supply chain engineering to reduce cost and lead time.
• Coordinate with design engineering on upcoming releases and part changes.
• Negotiate pricing and delivery terms, maintain planning data, and create mitigation plans for supply risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business, finance, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience, ideally in space, aerospace, precision medical devices, pharmaceutical manufacturing, biotech, life sciences, or a similar field.
• Experience with strategic sourcing of machined or propulsion components and translating engineering designs into demand and supply plans.
• Extensive experience using MES/ERP software.
• Strong supplier relationship-building, negotiation, influencing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and qualify as a U.S. person for access to export-controlled technology under ITAR requirements.

Nice to have

• Technical experience with MS Office Suite, VBA, Smartsheet, SQL, Confluence, JIRA, Power BI, or ION.
• Previous work as a machinist and understanding of manufacturing and material-flow processes.
• Experience prioritizing work and maintaining supplier relationships in a fast-moving environment.
