Director of Home Delivery

Location: Hybrid role based in San Francisco, Riverside, California, or Baltimore, Maryland; travel to carrier facilities, distribution centers, and delivery markets at least every other month or as needed.

What you will do

• Own the strategy, performance, cost, and quality of the outbound logistics network across parcel, freight, and White Glove delivery.
• Manage executive relationships with carrier partners and lead business reviews, RFPs, negotiations, and contract renewals.
• Design and expand the delivery network while optimizing middle-mile lanes, routing, carrier mix, and delivery capacity.
• Track delivery quality, damage rates, transit time, cost per order, SLA performance, and customer satisfaction.
• Partner with Customer Experience, Packaging, Product, Finance, Distribution, and Delivery leadership to improve delivery standards and reduce damage.
• Build, coach, and develop a high-performing outbound logistics team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in outbound logistics, transportation, or supply chain, including significant big-and-bulky home furnishings delivery experience.
• Experience building or managing a White Glove and final-mile delivery network across multiple markets and providers.
• 4+ years of people leadership experience, including coaching and developing managers.
• Proven experience leading carrier RFPs, rate negotiations, contract renewals, and transportation budgets.
• Deep knowledge of parcel, LTL, middle-mile freight, final-mile delivery economics, surcharge structures, dimensional pricing, and accessorial management.
• Advanced Excel, reporting, BI, analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills.
