Wildlife Biologist (Entry Level, Remote)

Location: Remote, with Texas as the primary territory and U.S. project support; preference for candidates in or near Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, or San Antonio. Travel is required 30–60% of the time, including overnight trips of up to one week.

Salary: $46,004–$86,028 annualized, with full-time benefits.

What you will do

• Conduct desktop and field biological surveys, wetland delineations, habitat assessments, and functional assessments.
• Assess project impacts and prepare technical reports, USACE 404/10 permit applications, and mitigation plans.
• Support infrastructure projects in transportation, energy, and water.
• Work independently in varied terrain and field conditions, often with limited mobile reception.
• Collaborate with senior biologists and project managers while developing client relationships.

Requirements

• BS in Biology, Natural Resource Sciences, Wetland Science, Wildlife, Ecology, Botany, Forestry, Environmental Sciences, or a related field by the time of hire.
• Ability to work independently in the field for extended periods.
• Ability to travel to project sites 30–60% of the time, with increased travel during spring and fall.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong oral, written, and technical communication skills, including the ability to QA/QC deliverables and apply feedback.

Nice to have

• Experience with wildlife habitat assessments, wildlife surveys, wetland delineations, WOTUS-related permitting, or similar environmental field services.
• Experience using GPS technologies.
