Field Applications Scientist/Senior Field Applications Scientist (NGS)

Location: Remote within the United States, with preference for candidates based on the West Coast; must be within 30 miles of a major airport. Up to 75% travel within the US is required, with possible international travel.

Base compensation: $100,000–$130,000 for the Field Applications Scientist role; $120,000–$150,000 plus bonus and equity for the Senior Field Applications Scientist role.

What you will do

• Provide pre- and post-sales technical and scientific support for NGS and precision enzyme products.
• Travel with sales representatives, meet customers, deliver training, troubleshoot workflows, and participate in trade shows and conferences.
• Present technical content and create customer-facing materials including posters, technical notes, white papers, and webinars.
• Maintain expert knowledge of NGS products, workflows, automation offerings, applications, and competitor products.
• Gather customer and market feedback, identify unmet needs, and support new product development.
• Collaborate with commercial, marketing, product, research, and industry partners while documenting customer activities in CRM.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship may be required to continue working in the United States.
• MSc in genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in NGS field applications; 8+ years may qualify candidates for the Senior level.
• Practical experience with experimental design, assay development, NGS library preparation, PCR, qPCR, laboratory practices, and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting NGS workflows in high-throughput sequencing laboratories, manually and on automated platforms.
• Strong customer consultation, scientific communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills; ability to travel up to 75%.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of NGS assay automation.
• Experience with CRM software, particularly Salesforce.
