Clinical Laboratory Technologist

Location: Baltimore, Maryland, United States of America; onsite at Ascension St Agnes

Salary: $32.50–$43.00 per hour

What you will do

• Evaluate specimen acceptability and assist with specimen processing.
• Perform routine and complex technical laboratory procedures according to standard operating procedures.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate reagents and controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance, quality control, documentation, and testing bench supply replenishment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical science, biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• At least one year of clinical laboratory testing experience, or an MLS degree.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Ability to work independently and within a team, with strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems and proficiency with computers.
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts according to business needs.

Nice to have

• ASCP or AMT certification.
• Applicable science credits from a non-traditional degree that meet CLIA standards.

• Overnight Shift 3 schedule: Wednesday and Thursday from 11:15 p.m. to 7:15 a.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11:00 p.m. to 11:00 a.m.
