Principal Software Engineer (Python)

What you will do

• Design, develop, document, test, and deliver platform technology services across infrastructure, data, applications, and security.
• Lead technical teams in designing secure, scalable, and best-practice engineering solutions.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, architecture patterns, and supportable development and operations practices.
• Integrate platform services with existing systems such as ServiceNow and provide production troubleshooting and support.
• Review and approve code changes, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with analysts, product owners, subject matter experts, and project managers.
• Define service roadmaps and evaluate emerging technologies with technical product owners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of programming experience in Python or an equivalent technology.
• 5+ years supervising developers and reviewing and approving code through standard SDLC processes.
• Experience with automated acceptance testing, unit-tested maintainable code, RESTful APIs, and web services.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity risks and experience building highly secure applications.
• Experience with CI/CD, Agile/Scrum, software integration, and always-available production services.

Nice to have

• Site Reliability Engineering experience and financial services industry knowledge.
• Experience with Kafka, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Airflow, PostgreSQL, Ansible, SQS, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, Okta, OAuth2, PlainID, ELK, Grafana, or ServiceNow.
