Client Office Phlebotomist-Part-time Days JA

Location: Client site in Evergreen Park, Illinois, United States. Part-time schedule of 33 hours per week: Monday–Thursday 12:00–18:30, Friday 10:00–15:00, with possible rotating Saturdays from 08:00–13:00.

Salary: $19.81–$26.74 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform venipuncture and other laboratory specimen collections according to age-related standards and department procedures.
• Process, label, centrifuge, aliquot, freeze, package, and transport specimens while maintaining sample stability and integrity.
• Review physician orders, enter laboratory tests in multiple systems, verify result receipt, and follow up on outstanding orders.
• Provide patient communication and post-phlebotomy care while applying patient-safety practices.
• Monitor refrigerator temperatures and quality records, maintain equipment and supplies, and report operational issues.
• Perform laboratory reception and clerical duties, including patient information retrieval, medical record system use, filing, and equipment sanitization.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification from a nationally recognized organization, training from a phlebotomy school or medical institution, at least one year of healthcare phlebotomy experience, or CMA certification.
• Ability to work the specified weekday daytime schedule and possible rotating Saturdays at the client site in Evergreen Park.
• Strong patient service, communication, teamwork, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to follow biohazard, safety, quality, regulatory, and specimen-handling procedures.

Nice to have

• Previous OBGYN experience.
• Experience with a broad range of patient types and laboratory specimen processing.
• Experience transferring specimens and operating a centrifuge.
• Familiarity with medical EMR systems and medical terminology.
