Sr Phlebotomist - Willmette, IL

Location: Onsite in Wilmette, Illinois and Glenview, Illinois

What you will do

• Verify test requisitions and patient identities before collection.
• Obtain blood specimens through venipunctures and finger sticks.
• Prepare and track specimens while maintaining aseptic technique, isolation procedures, and specimen integrity.
• Maintain quality-control records, follow testing schedules, and report required process changes.
• Resolve unusual test orders with physicians, pathologists, nursing stations, and reference laboratories.
• Manage patient reports, triage billing questions, follow up with patients, and schedule FedEx or Medspeed courier pickups.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of phlebotomy experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certificate if required by the state.
• Ability to follow hospital, professional, legal, federal, state, local, and JCAHO standards.
• Ability to work in an office setting while wearing scrubs and tracking each blood draw.
• Completion of HIPAA/PHI privacy, general compliance, security, and hirify.global training requirements.
