Sr Phlebotomist - Springfield, MA

What you will do

• Verify test requisitions and patient identities before collection.
• Obtain blood specimens through venipunctures and finger sticks while maintaining specimen integrity and following aseptic and isolation procedures.
• Track collections, maintain daily tallies, record quality-control results, and report required changes.
• Resolve unusual test orders by coordinating with physicians, pathologists, nursing stations, and reference laboratories.
• Print and manage patient reports, triage billing questions, follow up with patients, and schedule courier pickups through FedEx or Medspeed.
• Follow hospital, legal, federal, state, local, JCAHO, HIPAA, and PHI-handling requirements.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of phlebotomy experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certificate if required by the state.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ability to work onsite in Springfield, Massachusetts, wear scrubs, and track every draw.
• Completion of HIPAA/PHI privacy, policy compliance, and security training within the first 30 days of hire, with ongoing hirify.global training compliance.
