Client Office Phlebotomist-Part-time Days SW

Location: Client site in Marion, Iowa, United States. Part-time schedule of 30 hours per week: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Travel to additional sites may be required.

Salary: $19.45–$25.29 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform phlebotomy and other laboratory specimen collections for patients across age groups, including infants, adults, geriatric patients, and wheelchair users.
• Provide post-phlebotomy care, identify patient medical needs, and support patient safety procedures.
• Label, process, transfer, and handle specimens according to established protocols, including centrifuge operation and clerical processing.
• Obtain physician orders, enter laboratory tests into computer systems, and follow up on timed, completed, and outstanding draws, charges, and results.
• Maintain refrigerator temperature, quality-control and quality-assurance records, corrective-action logs, and equipment readiness.
• Communicate professionally with patients, client office staff, laboratory and physician teams while managing tasks independently and supporting coworkers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Nationally recognized phlebotomy certification, or training from a phlebotomy school or medical institution plus at least one year of healthcare phlebotomy experience.
• Ability to work the stated Monday–Friday daytime schedule at the Marion client site.
• Ability to perform collections safely and accurately while following patient-identification, handwashing, laboratory, and healthcare safety standards.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask, complete assignments independently, and communicate effectively with patients and coworkers.
• A background check is required for newly hired team members.

Nice to have

• Experience with a broad range of patient types and laboratory specimen processing.
• Familiarity with medical EMR systems and medical terminology.
• Bilingual skills.
