Sr Phlebotomist - Louisville, KY

What you will do

• Identify patients and obtain blood specimens through venipunctures and finger sticks.
• Prepare, track, and maintain specimen integrity using aseptic and isolation procedures.
• Verify test requisitions, resolve unusual orders, and coordinate with physicians, pathologists, nursing stations, and reference laboratories.
• Maintain quality-control records, collection tallies, testing schedules, and draw documentation.
• Manage patient report printing, billing question triage, patient follow-up, and courier pickup scheduling.
• Handle paper and electronic PHI while following HIPAA, security, legal, and hospital requirements.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of phlebotomy experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certificate required if mandated by the state.
• Ability to follow professional, hospital, federal, state, local, and JCAHO standards.
• Ability to work onsite in Louisville, KY, in an office setting with scrubs required.
• Ability to track every blood draw and complete required HIPAA, privacy, compliance, and security training within the first 30 days.
