Medical Assistant

Location: Onsite in North Chicago, Illinois (Lake County)

Salary: $20.80–$26.00 per hour

What you will do

• Interview patients and measure vital signs, including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient health records.
• Prepare treatment rooms and clean and sterilize instruments.
• Administer medications and injections, perform laboratory tests, and operate EKG and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations.
• Support front-desk administration, schedule appointments, make follow-up calls, and order medical supplies.

Requirements

• National certification in Medical Assisting from an approved organization, or a certificate/diploma and transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with a completed and passed hands-on externship.
• Online-only Medical Assistant courses are not accepted.
• Current Basic Life Support certification with hands-on training from AHA, ARC, or an equivalent provider is required.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience is preferred.
