Senior Specialist, Electrical Engineer (Defense Tech)

What you will do

• Design and analyze digital, power, analog, and mixed-signal electronics using electrical design and simulation tools.
• Create schematics, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, design review packages, performance budgets, and test data.
• Develop, build, and test mixed-signal low-voltage current-driver boards and microcontroller-based board designs.
• Lead bench-level system integration with hardware, software, firmware, and FPGA designs.
• Create test plans and procedures, support design reviews, and contribute to production release of product documentation.
• Support system requirements, trade studies, proposals, project planning, cost and schedule milestones, and customer reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and at least 4 years of related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with microcontroller programming and debugging in embedded C.
• Experience designing stepper motor control circuits and mixed-signal electronics.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance; security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
• On-site work in Carlsbad, California is required.

Nice to have

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Experience combining communications systems knowledge with analog, digital, and FPGA design.
• Knowledge of version control practices and Subversion.
• Four or more years of digital electronics design experience through integration and testing.
