Technical Staff Engineer - Hardware (Network Timing)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; onsite role

Annual base salary: $91,000–$232,000, plus restricted stock units and quarterly bonus payments.

What you will do

• Develop analog and digital circuits and create schematics using CAD tools.
• Design advanced network timing equipment, including PTP grandmasters and NTP servers.
• Define system architecture, select components, and plan hardware implementation.
• Partner with PCB layout engineers on board layout, signal integrity, manufacturability, and design reviews.
• Create hardware documentation and test plans, and maintain design data in Agile PLM.
• Drive products from concept through board bring-up, validation, release, and sustaining support while collaborating with software, test, marketing, and manufacturing teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering/Computer Science; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 12+ years of hands-on circuit design experience.
• Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, digital systems, and computer architecture.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, network analyzers, GNSS simulators, and related laboratory equipment.
• Experience with Altium and/or HyperLynx CAD tools and high-speed PCB transmission-line structures and signal-integrity practices.
• Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship, permanent U.S. residency, or protected-individual status under U.S. export-control requirements.
