Mainframe Network Engineer (IBM Mainframe)

Location: Hybrid role requiring onsite work three days per week in Chandler, AZ; Plano, TX; Charlotte, NC; or Jersey City, NJ. The role requires living in or around the Phoenix, AZ area, and candidates willing to relocate to the area will be considered.

Pay range: $55–$65 per hour.

What you will do

• Design, configure, implement, and support network connectivity for IBM mainframe environments.
• Install and maintain z/OS Communications Server components and TCP/IP configurations.
• Manage VTAM definitions, network resources, Enterprise Extender, SNA, and TN3270 connectivity.
• Support FTP, SFTP, and other secure data exchange solutions between mainframes, distributed systems, vendors, and enterprise applications.
• Diagnose issues involving IP routing, ports, sessions, DNS, firewalls, and middleware connectivity.
• Support disaster recovery design, failover validation, backup data center communication, and business continuity exercises.

Requirements

• Experience with IBM mainframe network environments and z/OS Communications Server.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, VTAM, SNA, Enterprise Extender, TN3270, FTP, and SFTP.
• Experience troubleshooting routing, port communication, session failures, DNS resolution, and firewall blocks.
• Experience supporting SSL/TLS certificates, secure transmission standards, firewall validation, and vulnerability remediation.
• Must be able to work onsite three days per week and live in or around the Phoenix, AZ area.
• Visa preference: H-1B, green card, or US citizenship.
