Systems/Network Administrator Lead

Location: Onsite at USMEPCOM Headquarters in North Chicago, Illinois; occasional travel to CONUS/OCONUS locations may be required.

Annual base salary: $140,000–$175,000.

What you will do

• Lead systems and network operations and maintenance across the USMEPCOM enterprise, including contractor teams, service levels, and operational performance.
• Coordinate administration of servers, operating systems, storage, virtualization, cloud platforms, networks, Active Directory, and related enterprise services.
• Lead technical planning, engineering integration, interface analysis, hardware and software testing, and system interoperability validation.
• Direct 24/7/365 Outage Response Team coverage, including outage triage, diagnosis, mitigation, restoration, COOP, disaster recovery, and backup testing.
• Coordinate with government personnel, agencies, vendors, service providers, and subcontractors during service restoration.
• Maintain incident response plans, outage documentation, network diagrams, configuration records, operating procedures, training materials, and service-status reporting.

Requirements

• Secret security clearance required.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for IT-II/Tier 3 or Tier 3 Reinvestigation requirements required.
• ITIL v4 Practice Manager, ITIL v4 Foundation, or higher certification.
• Certifications required under DoDM 8140.03 and at least three years of recent IPv4 or IPv6 protocol stack experience.
• Experience with enterprise systems and network administration, outage response, incident management, security configuration, vulnerability remediation, patching, access controls, and change management.
• Ability to support assigned 24/7/365 coverage and on-call arrangements, including after-hours recovery and COOP activities; continuous duty by one person is not required.

Nice to have

• Five or more years managing geographically distributed enterprise IT teams and physical or virtual infrastructure.
• Experience with Windows, UNIX/Linux, databases, SharePoint, VMware/ESXi, scripting, SANs, cloud solutions, and virtual desktop environments.
• Network certifications such as CCNA and CompTIA Network+, plus security certifications such as Security+ or CISSP.
• Experience with DISA network transport solutions, LAN, MPLS, BGP, WAN, communications planning, and firewall appliances and rulesets.
