Senior Manager, RCM Optimization & Strategy (Healthcare RCM)

Location: Remote, US; periodic in-person retreats.

Salary: $130,000–$145,000 annually.

What you will do

• Analyze end-to-end revenue cycle workflows, eliminate manual bottlenecks, and address revenue leakage.
• Own billing platform configuration across Apero, Sigma, and Mahler, including payor logic, fee schedules, and contract terms.
• Build and maintain KPI dashboards covering clean claims, denials, days in AR, claim lag, appeals, and collections.
• Lead root-cause analysis of claim denials, underpayments, pre-claim edits, and front-end rejections.
• Partner with Payor Operations, Technology, Licensing & Credentialing, Authorization & Eligibility, Patient Access, and Clinical Operations on systemic fixes.
• Lead change management for billing tools, software integrations, workflow changes, and automation initiatives.

Requirements

• 6+ years of progressive healthcare revenue cycle management experience, including at least 3 years in analytics, optimization, or process improvement.
• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field, or 10+ years of healthcare RCM experience.
• Experience reducing claim denials, recovering lost revenue, analyzing payor contracts, auditing fee schedules, and identifying underpayments.
• Strong project management, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Working knowledge of payor policies, billing guidelines, claims submission requirements, CPT, and ICD-10 codes.
• Experience configuring billing platforms; Apero, Sigma, Mahler, or similar RCM software experience is preferred.

Nice to have

• Behavioral health or telehealth billing experience.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth, or startup healthcare environment.
• Experience with clearinghouse rules, RPA or AI solutions, SQL, BI platforms, EHR/PM systems, or rule builders.
• Passion for pediatric mental health and expanding access to evidence-based care.
