Research Assistant

What you will do

• Conduct experiments, technical procedures, and research activities, modifying procedures to meet project needs.
• Maintain rat and mouse colonies, administer chemical and patch treatments, monitor responses, and perform biopsies and tissue harvesting.
• Prepare data and samples, organize laboratory inventory and equipment, and order scientific supplies.
• Assist with writing and editing scientific publications and cataloging reference materials.
• Participate in laboratory meetings and collaborative projects across departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Research knowledge in liver or cancer biology.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to help maintain a safe and respectful environment for faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
• Occasional weekend or after-hours work may be required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, animal science, or a related field.
• Benchwork experience and experience handling rodents or maintaining rodent colonies.
• Experience with oral tissue biopsy and histological analysis.
• Experience in liver or aging biology.
