Associate Research Engineer (MedTech)

What you will do

• Develop research protocols with surgeons, product development personnel, and researchers.
• Plan and execute mechanical, biomechanical, and basic research testing, including fixture design, experiments, data analysis, reports, abstracts, manuscripts, and documentation.
• Coordinate research projects, kick-off meetings, specimen preparation, and cadaver laboratory setup.
• Identify research opportunities with product development, Sales & Marketing, and surgeons.
• Support research laboratory planning, equipment maintenance, product development, design reviews, and mechanical testing.
• Coordinate publications and ensure submission deadlines, peer-reviewed publications, and podium presentations are maintained.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of research experience in biomechanical and musculoskeletal areas, preferably involving medical devices.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably a master’s degree, in science or engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 15–20% of the time.
• Ability to perform the stated physical duties, including sitting, climbing, balancing, crouching, and lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Nice to have

• Experience with histology, cell culture, imaging, radiography, or microscopy.
