Research Assistant (Pharmaceutical Sciences)

Salary: $45,000 annually; proposed minimum salary of $3,750 monthly

What you will do

• Conduct data analysis and preliminary data collection by following experimental protocols, including cell culture, PCR, ELISA, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and mouse behavioral studies.
• Compile research data, interpret and analyze results, prepare reports, and present conclusions.
• Maintain the mouse colony, perform surgery on xenograft mice, conduct behavioral tests, and generate preliminary data for lung cancer and Alzheimer’s disease projects.
• Participate in poster and podium presentations of research findings.
• Coordinate collaboration between pharmacy and graduate students and laboratory team members under the supervision of the principal investigator.
• Train new laboratory members and students on techniques and safety protocols, ship laboratory agents, and contribute to lab meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.
• Knowledge of computers and software relevant to the position.
• Strong attention to detail, professional communication, organizational skills, and flexibility in a high-volume environment.
• Ability to work onsite in Kingsville, Texas.
