Operations Specialist (Gas Pipelines)

Location: Onsite at 750 N. Elmhurst Road, Elk Grove Village, Illinois 60007, United States. Monday through Friday with on-call responsibilities during nights and weekends.

Salary: USD $33.23–$45.15 per hour

What you will do

• Operate and maintain gas pipelines, compressor stations, engines, turbines, pumps, valves, seals, and related equipment.
• Install, repair, service, and maintain pipeline valves, piping, and appurtenances.
• Support capital and operations and maintenance projects, including excavation oversight, pigging support, leak surveys, and air mover operation.
• Oversee third-party construction and maintenance activities and train company and contractor personnel.
• Represent the company with landowners, tenants, public officials, emergency officials, and local organizations.
• Perform compliance, documentation, safety, environmental, and emergency response activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; a two-year technical or mechanical degree is preferred.
• Basic computer and math skills, strong mechanical skills, and effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work shifts, remain on standby, respond to after-hours call-outs, and maintain predictable attendance.
• Valid driver's license and compliance with company insurability requirements; a commercial driver's license may be required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders and elevated platforms, use hand tools, and work in extreme weather and low-light conditions.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with gas compressor stations and pipeline system operations.
• Knowledge of maintenance tracking databases, line locating equipment, one-call requirements, blueprints, P&IDs, and other diagrams.
• Experience handling flammable gases, liquids, and high- or low-pressure systems.
