Intern/Co-op - HES&S Process Safety (Summer 2027)

Location: Midland, Texas; on-site 40 hours per week

Salary: $34.15–$43.23 per hour

What you will do

• Support Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management Plan (RMP), regulatory compliance, and internal process safety standards.
• Conduct and coordinate facility siting, Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Management of Change (MOC), and risk calibration activities.
• Work with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and facility personnel to resolve process safety issues and close recommendations.
• Support process safety training, incident investigations, root cause analyses, reporting, and corrective action development.
• Validate process safety leak calculations, analyze metrics and trends, and prepare reports.
• Coordinate process safety audits, assurance activities, regulatory inspections, and enforcement response support.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering and remaining enrolled throughout the internship.
• Strong academic performance.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
• Must be available for on-site work 40 hours per week in Midland, Texas.
• Ability to safely climb multiple flights of stairs or ladders and lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for commuting and work-related travel.
