What you will do

• Maintain and repair mechanical equipment using hand and power tools.
• Work with pumping devices, valves, pressure-reducing valves, traps, and piping systems.
• Operate steam lines safely and identify the risks and prevention measures associated with water hammer.
• Perform basic pipefitting, rigging, and hoisting activities.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas and assist with training other Mechanic III employees.
• Work in confined spaces, hot areas, and indoor or outdoor conditions throughout all seasons.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and a driving record meeting company standards.
• Ability to follow DOT regulations when required.
• Ability to lift and operate machinery, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to climb ladders or stairs and work in confined spaces and adverse conditions.
• Ability to use a half-face respirator or powered air-purifying respirator when required and pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug screen.
